Jag is egotistical, charismatic, and dangerous – everything Zenn’s not. Vi can’t quite trust Jag and can’t quite resist him, but she also can’t give up on Zenn.

This is a game of control or be controlled. And Vi has no choice but to play.

This is a fun, fast paced dystopian novel by a fantastic new author. She is a local author here in Utah and I have been privileged enough to attend one of her seminars. She is funny and smart – the perfect combination.

So the book Possession has been long awaited by many that know Elana Johnson. It starts off very fast paced and gets right into the action with Vi being arrested for breaking the rules.  Right away you know something is up because Zenn wasn’t apprehended but pulled back and didn’t support Vi. She noticed some differences in him when they first met that night but brushed them off because she loves him and hadn’t seen him in a while.  After the arrest her world is turned upside down.  She finds things about the crazy world she lives in that she never wishes to know. The mysterious death of her sister and disappearance of her father come back to the forefront of her life. She isn’t sure how to deal with the answers she receives. What she once thought was reality is no longer true and she starts to question every move and decision she makes while in the fight of her life.

This is a stand alone novel but has been left WIDE open at the end for a sequel. There is a tentative follow up novel that is being talked about for next year but nothing has been confirmed.  I will be extremely disappointed if there is not more to this story.  This could easily be a 3 book story in my opinion. And if we don’t at least get another book then I personally feel cheated by the author.  There is so, so, so much more to this story than where it is left at the end. The end cries for more to be told – it kicks, screams, throws tantrums – you get my point right?? It must have more!  Ms. Johnson if you are reading this I beg of you on my knees to PLEASE finish the story of these characters.

So all of that being said I give this book 4 stars. I would have considered 5 if it was confirmed to have a sequel to this story. I know that sounded childish but if the story isn’t finished then there is more to be written. So 4 stars for a partial story if more than fair!
